Offsets are not always whole hours
Many countries are a whole number of hours from UTC, but some use 30- or 45-minute steps β India is +05:30 and Nepal is +05:45. Doing the math in your head as a simple "9-hour difference" can be off by 15 to 30 minutes for such regions, so it is safer to let the tool calculate.
DST switch days create "missing" and "doubled" times
In regions that observe daylight saving time, the spring switch skips an hour so some local times do not exist, and the autumn switch makes the same time occur twice. Plans that cross a switch day easily drift, and this is a common source of hand-calculation mistakes. This tool calculates automatically from the DST rules for each date.
Store the place name, not the offset
When you save a plan, store it as a place name (an IANA time zone like Asia/Tokyo) rather than an offset like +09:00. Offsets change with DST, but a place name lets you correctly recompute "the rule in effect there on that date" later.
Dates can shift
With a far-away counterpart, your time can land on the previous or next day for them. This tool shows each region's date as well, so late-night or early-morning scheduling never leaves you unsure which day you are talking about.

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, and the date and time you enter are never sent to a server.
Is daylight saving time taken into account?
Yes. Based on each region DST rules, it automatically determines whether that region is on DST for the date you specify and calculates accordingly, including across a switch date.
Why do some cities show a date that is off by a day?
In regions with a large time difference, the base region time can fall on the previous or next day for the other region. This tool shows each region date too, preventing mix-ups when scheduling meetings across a date boundary.

What does the UTC offset display (like +09:00) mean?

Can it convert past or future dates correctly?
It calculates using the DST rules that apply to the date you specify. Note that DST systems can change in the future, so dates far ahead are computed with the information available before any such change.
