About this tool
The unit converter translates length, weight, temperature, data size, and more between units within each category. It runs in your browser and never sends your input anywhere. It looks like simple multiplication but has a few easy-to-miss points worth knowing.
Temperature is not a proportion
Celsius and Fahrenheit have different zero points, so it is not a simple proportion. 0°C is 32°F and 100°C is 212°F, with the conversion °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Doubling the value does not double the temperature. This tool uses the correct formula.
Is 1 KB of data 1000 or 1024?
Data size has two systems. Decimal (SI) has 1 KB = 1000 bytes, while binary (IEC) has 1 KiB = 1024 bytes. Disk makers tend to use decimal and operating systems binary, which is why a 1 TB disk shows as about 931 GiB. Check the unit label shown (KB vs KiB).
Currency is out of scope
Currency rates change daily, so this tool, which assumes fixed conversion ratios, does not handle them. It covers units with a physically defined (or conventionally fixed) ratio, such as length, weight, temperature, and data size.
Tiny rounding at extreme magnitudes
It is precise enough for typical use, but because of how computers handle floating-point math, extremely large or small values can show a tiny rounding difference.
